Overview

The Recruitment Business Partner (RBP) role is based within the Talent team which is part of the Human Resources and Company Secretary Directorate. The role is responsible for the delivery of all recruitment related activity across the business. The scope of the role is broad and varied and there is a high level of autonomy in the role with support from the Head of Talent.

 

The Recruitment function is well established and the team pride themselves on their success with direct recruitment, providing a high level of customer service, raising RSSB’s employer brand and the use of technology to drive efficiencies.

 

Day to day the RBP will deliver multiple end-to-end permanent recruitment campaigns and temporary recruitment via our managed service provider, ensuring campaigns are run effectively, compliantly and in support of our employer brand. This will include providing advice to hiring managers, managing suppliers, and providing administrative support throughout the hiring process. You will manage campaigns often of a unique and technical nature requiring knowledge of bespoke talent acquisition strategies.

The role will lead the content creation for our career pages and social media, ensuring the pages are up to date and reflective of our culture in collaboration with colleagues across the business and using the available digital tools.

 

The role requires a proactive approach and tenacity to ensure both a seamless service and that the function remains progressive. There is ample opportunity to get involved with projects, continually improve the recruitment offering and to try new ways of doing things.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high quality and timely end-to-end in-house recruitment service for all roles up to senior level, including approval, advising on job descriptions and undertaking job evaluations, planning, advertising, short list and interview (conducted by line managers), and pre-boarding, ensuring the best talent is appointed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Manage all temporary recruitment through the managed service provider, oversee the temporary hiring process in conjunction with hiring managers, ensuring KPIs are met, the MSP portal is updated and that there is compliance e.g. with IR35 requirements.
  • Effectively utilise digital tools to enhance the recruitment experience for all stakeholders.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their resourcing requirements, providing advice and agreeing recruitment plans. Manage the fulfilment of individual vacancies effectively in an open and consistent manner and one which promotes the RSSB recruitment brand.
  • Ensure ongoing engagement with candidates and stakeholders to support recruitment objectives, and compliance with all stages of the recruitment processes, including GDPR, Equality Act, and RSSB’s Recruitment policy.
  • Incorporate equality, diversity, and inclusion principles into all aspects of recruitment and selection, supporting the team with accreditations e.g. The Clear Company and championing inclusion initiatives within the recruitment process e.g. reasonable adjustments.
  • Support Early Careers recruitment including a small pool of graduate hires, placement students and work experience.
  • Ensure effective administration of recruitment campaigns, including managing candidates via the ATS, issuing contracts via the ATS, setting up filing systems, and recording campaign information.
  • Manage the applicant tracking system to ensure it is up to date and running efficiently and effectively manage other key supplier systems (vetting, IR35 assessments and Managed Service Provider).
  • Lead RSSB’s recruitment social media strategy in conjunction with colleagues across the business, drawing on existing content and utilising existing tools to create content including for LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and the RSSB career pages.
  • Manage and maintain supplier relationships to ensure value for money and delivery against KPIs (ATS provider, MSP, Social Media suppliers, media suppliers, vetting, and IR35 provider).
  • Remain up to date with the market, current best practice, legislation, and technological advancements to ensure recruitment activity at RSSB is continuously improving and advancing.
  • Continually review and improve resourcing systems, user guides, processes and procedures ensuring they are fit for purpose.
  • Manage the offer and on-boarding process including pre-employment checks though a third-party supplier.
  • Co-ordinate the recruitment budget, and costs relating to recruitment activity, ensuring value for money.
  • Use data and analytics to inform recruitment strategies, identify trends and areas for improvement. Report on recruitment data regularly including to the Executive Committee.
  • Provide support to the Talent function.

Qualifications

  • Proven in-house recruitment experience in a similar role with a breadth of responsibility and exposure to managing a volume and variety of roles up to senior level.
  • Experience of direct sourcing methodologies and tools including writing adverts, agreeing advertising media, and using LinkedIn recruiter etc.
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices, including relevant legislation and recruitment insights including market trends, best practice and familiarity with recruitment tools and techniques.
  • Experience of recruiting to early careers programmes.
  • A proven commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and experience of championing initiatives in the recruitment process.
  • Experience of using social media and developing content to engage potential candidates and build the employer brand.
  • Intermediate capability with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficiency with recruitment systems e.g. ATS.
  • Experience of managing candidates and supplier relationships to ensure value for money and delivery against KPIs.
  • Experience with selection methodologies including advising, selecting and developing materials and buying off the shelf.
  • Comfortable undertaking recruitment administration.
  • Ability to build relationships and professional credibility with all stakeholders and negotiate and influence to achieve good recruitment outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple and often conflicting priorities and take a proactive approach.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively when embracing new opportunities, change and in navigating uncertainty.
