9 Month Fixed-Term Contract
The Editorial Content Manager will work closely with the Senior Content Editorial Manager (SCE Manager) and other members of the Content Editorial Team to develop, commission, review, publish, design, curate , and occasionally write, content relevant to RSSB and its associated offerings, schemes, and partnerships. The role involves working across diverse and complex content topics in various formats, applying two of our three key marketing principles in particular: ‘less is more’ and ‘hyper-accessible content’. This plays a key role in taking our content offerings to the next level.
As a maternity leave cover, most of your editorial work will be focused on the core ‘business as usual’ outputs of the business where formats, audiences, and authors are already established. These are: lengthy technical reports, shorter ‘Research in Brief’ documents, track records, and easy requests about webpage copy. However, we are keen to employ a professional content editor who is skilled in all areas of the editing task so that both you and us can gain the most from the role. The role requirements are therefore defined very broadly although main responsibilities are more tightly defined. After an introductory period you may do other work to meet our other needs as they fit with your skillset and experience.
The RSSB website is currently undergoing a comprehensive refresh and new features to improve usability for our members are being added. This makes it an exciting time to be part of the Content Team. However, it also intensifies the need to maintain the excellence of our editorial work on our core products.
You will be responsible for delivering editorial and production guidance and support to those developing content for RSSB. This will include guiding and influencing the development of content. We are particularly keen that all members of the Content Team ensure appropriate structure, editing, formatting and design are applied. This requires working effectively with subject matter experts, senior stakeholders, and partners to deliver clear, relevant information. Specific responsibilities include;
