Open positions are advertised on the RSSB Careers Portal page. Once you have identified a role that interests you, the first step of your journey with us will be completing an online application. You will be asked to register your details, answer any application questions and upload your CV and cover letter.
Your application will be reviewed and if you are successful at application stage you will be invited for a telephone, face to face or virtual interview. You may also be asked to complete a work-related exercise such as preparing a presentation or undertaking an assessment ahead of the interview or on the day. The interviews and assessments are designed to assess the competencies on the person specification.
The interview stage is a great opportunity for us to get to know you better and similarly for you to take the opportunity to find out more about us. Our interviews are competency-based and will be conducted by a trained panel. If you are successful, at this stage you may be required to undergo a second interview and / or assessment exercise.
We will keep you informed at each stage of the process, you will be sent an email confirming whether you have been progressed and if offered, we will contact you by phone to make the offer before issuing any formal paperwork.
If you require any adjustments with respect to our selection process including information in an alternative format, contact us vacancies@rssb.co.uk

We value diversity and we are committed to ensuring an inclusive workplace for our employees, this extends to ensuring diversity and inclusion in our recruitment and selection processes. As a member of the Disability Confident Scheme, we have made a positive commitment to employing disabled people through providing support during the selection process and with reasonable adjustments where requested. The aim of this commitment is to encourage disabled people to apply for our jobs, by providing the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at interview stage, if they meet the minimum criteria for our roles.
We have ensured that our selection process is fair and objective and based on merit, considering only the applicant’s ability which is assessed against the requirements for the role.
Minimum requirements are the essential criteria outlined in the job description and can include qualifications, skills and experience which are assessed based on the evidence provided by the candidate at application stage.
There may be occasions where it is not practicable for us to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum requirements for a role for example, where high volumes of applications have been received and during peak times. At such times, we may limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to candidates within and outside of the scheme.
Candidates are encouraged to request reasonable adjustments in advance of their interview or assessment. Our communication to candidates invited to interview will include details of a contact within our Recruitment Team. We are also able to offer reasonable adjustments prior to the selection process, for example providing application information and forms in alternative formats. To make a request, you can email our recruitment team at vacancies@rssb.co.uk
