About the team Leading Health and Safety on Britain's Railway (LHSBR) is the rail industry’s health and safety strategy. Developed by leaders across a range of rail sectors, this strategy sets out the challenges and activities which need collaborative approaches to deliver a better, safer and healthier railway across Great Britain. LHSBR identifies 12 key risk areas where safety and health performance need to be improved. Refreshed in 2020, LHSBR recommends tangible ways to improve and innovate, making railways safer and healthier for all. The key to success is working together and making commitments to achieve future improvements through industry groups that monitor and help implement mitigations across the 12 risk areas.   While we are proud to work on one of the safest rail networks in the world, performance has deteriorated in some areas. There are concerns which need to be urgently addressed around operational risks, as well as workforce safety and wellbeing. Ultimately, a healthier workforce will deliver a safer railway. The Directorate’s main role is therefore in the delivery of the LHSBR strategy. To ensure the strategy is being implemented effectively, the LHSBR Executive Advisory Group (LEAG) has been set up to act on behalf of the RSSB Board.   The Role The Assistant Strategy Implementation Manager (ASIM) will support the Principal Strategy Implementation Manager (PRISIM) with the delivery of the LHSBR strategy; providing the link between RSSB and the industry group/key industry stakeholders to develop the LHSBR Delivery Roadmap and resourced workplan.  The ASIM will support the PRISM in the delivery of RSSB’s planned technical outputs, manage meeting and reporting activities for their risk area and support the industry to embed workplan outputs and realise the benefits to reduce risk.     You will establish effective working methods with industry partners, building collaboration overcoming barriers to help mitigate risks in health and safety and realisation of the LHSBR strategy.   You will meet or exceed member and stakeholder expectations, supporting the delivery of the relevant risk groups’ objectives and help promote the adoption of RSSB products and services to the benefit of their business. You will be working with industry members to assist with the implementation and embedding of LHSBR outputs, monitoring and providing feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of our Products and Services and the embedding and communication of these.
