About the team RSSB’s Risk and Safety Intelligences (RSI) Department manages and analyses health and safety data and undertakes risk assessments and risk modelling for the GB railway. Our products and services are used across the sector to inform decisions that affect the safety and health of rail workers, passengers and the wider public. We develop guidance and tools and support their use so that rail operators can manage risk effectively and efficiently. We work closely with our members and other stakeholders to support risk and evidence-based decisions and to deliver the industry strategy Leading Health and Safety on Britain’s Railway. Our team of safety engineers and data scientists ensures RSSB’s reputation as a centre of excellence in risk management, analysis and data-driven insights.   The role The Lead Systems Safety Engineer will join our System, Safety and Health Directorate, providing specialist technical expertise to the industry on safety and risk management issues, and supporting their safety assurance activities. This includes undertaking risk assessments for sector-wide change, providing bespoke support to our member companies, and developing and promoting guidance and tools to support effective risk management practice.

The Assistant Strategy Implementation Manager (ASIM) will support the Risk and Safety Intelligence Leadership Team deliver the risk management capability needed for the LHSBR strategy, providing the link between RSSB and key industry stakeholders and groups.  The ASIM will support the team in the delivery of RSSB’s planned technical outputs, manage meeting and reporting activities and support the industry to embed workplan outputs and realise the benefits to reduce risk.     You will establish effective working methods with industry partners, building collaboration and overcoming barriers to help improve how health and safety risk is managed to realise the LHSBR strategy.   You will meet or exceed member and stakeholder expectations, supporting the delivery of relevant team and industry objectives and help promote the adoption of RSSB products and services to the benefit of our members’ business. You will be working with industry members to assist with the implementation and embedding of LHSBR outputs, monitoring and providing feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of our products and services and the embedding and communication of these.

The Membership Development Manager will be responsible and accountable for achieving new Affiliate targets as part of the Membership Development Team. You will create and leverage opportunities with new clients for the wider team to sell additional services such as consultancy and training to new organisations. You will work closely with the rest of the Affiliate team to ensure targets are reached and build effective relationships with the wider business development team to maximise commercial opportunities. The Senior Finance Business Partner (FBP) is one of the key players in the Finance Business Partner team.  The team is critical in driving RSSB to deliver its strategic objectives, by enabling our stakeholders to make better and right-first-time decisions through developing and delivering accurate, timely, insightful and challenging management information, and business planning and budgeting processes.   The role takes the lead in delivering reports and working directly with senior stakeholders – in particular COG Directors, Heads of Department, and other budget holders.  They are crucial in drawing together highly complex information, and distilling it into key insights and actionable decisions, for their areas.   The Senior FBP will represent and champion finance and the Finance department across the business, delivering key messages and building trust and engagement with stakeholders, in their critical business decisions.     Day to day the role will use their experience and effective technical accounting knowledge to support the delivery of a full range of management accounting activities including budgets, forecasting and management information. An important part of the role will therefore involve continually seeking to improve Finance and wider RSSB processes, by combining up to date expert knowledge with a deep understanding of the business.
